Top Ideas For Your Italian Dishes

Italian dishes are renowned for their rich taste steeped in history. Influenced by the Greeks, Romans, Spanish, French, Arabs and even Austrians, the Italian cuisine encompasses those various inspirations that render it opulent and sinful!

What comes to mind when you hear Italian food? Yes, it’s the world-famous pizza! One can never get enough of it and always craves italian food in jacksonville (or wherever they are based). Most of us tuck into a pizza on a Friday night without knowing the history behind this yummy treat. Did you know the prodigious Pizza was created back in 1889 for royal visitors in Naples? The lovely queen was so taken by this concoction that she penned a letter of thanks to the chef, who decided to name it the Margherita…in honour of Queen Margherita. Today, the Margherita is still a big favourite for many, so let’s see how easy it is to make in your own home.

Making your own Margherita is so simple that you will be astounded! This is a quick recipe to follow with the use of a few ingredients that you could find on Real Italiano (Visit website here), on other similar e-stores, and even in a grocery store nearby. Aside from you enjoying cooking with the family, it could be a great way to teach children about home-cooked meals too.

Ingredients

200 g white flour

1 packet of dried yeast

A pinch of salt

140 ml lukewarm water

8 tablespoons of Olive oil

200g tomato sauce or passata

2 sachets of Mozzarella, grated

Basil leaves

Salt

Pepper

Start by mixing your flour, yeast and pinch of salt in a bowl. Dig a hole in the middle and pour your water and 1 tablespoon of oil slowly in. Mix it all up with a wooden spoon to create a moist dough.

Sprinkle some flour onto your worktop and knead your dough for about 5 minutes until it is smooth. Coat the inside of a large bowl with some olive oil and place the dough in there before also coating it with some olive oil. Cover with cling film and leave at room temperature for 25 minutes.

After 25 minutes, preheat your oven to 200 C. Tip your dough onto a surface sprinkled with flour. Split your dough into 2 separate balls. Roll them out to make 2 round bases and place them on oiled trays.

Apply the passata or tomato sauce over the top and add salt and pepper before spreading out your grated mozzarella across the sauce. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil on each pizza to finish.

Place in the oven to cook for approximately 18 minutes. Sprinkle your basil leaves over the cheese just before removing from the oven.

Your pizza should be golden and crispy – ready to be devoured!

Serve hot and cheesy with your favourite beverage and a simple salad tossed with lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Nothing left to say except… Buon appetito! So, as you whip up this delight. Why not head to Aspers and enjoy the collection of food-based games they have in store there. We hope that you enjoy making the above as much as you enjoy eating it!
