The man cave, in my home, is a crucially important room. Not only because I don’t like the clutter of games, beer and general mess, but also because it gives my husband a sanctuary to escape to after a long, hard day at work – maybe I’ll have to think about looking at she sheds for me too, because he isn’t the only one that works hard! But, this is about him, and how to create the perfect man cave. So let’s continue!
The trick to creating the perfect man cave, is individuality which can be achieve through the use of colours, furniture and personal preference (from him).
Now as much as we want to make our man’s cave fit in with the rest of the house, it’s important to let your partner have a say and decided how he wants his room to be decorated and designed. If he is being too ridiculous with his ideas, you ca always get him a nice portable cabin so at least then he is completely separated from the house and can have a bit of his own peace and quiet!
Grey is a great colour for a man cave, its mysterious, a little inviting and relaxing for those days when he’ll spend hours just lounging watching movies or playing on his Xbox. Grey is also extreamly stylish and can be accessorized with white and black to give it a contermporary and sleek look. Depending on your man’s tastes in color, different color options can be considered, too. Sprucing up the man cave with some funky designs or custom neon signs from somewhere like Neon Mama could brighten the place up for those beer and pizza parties!
Now, there are a few crucial items which need consideration, these are the TV, sound system and sofa. No man, cave is complete without these.
When hunting for a TV you want one of a good size, good quality and preferable one which comes with a stylish stand or can be hung on the wall. There are a whole range of TV’s out there, from 3D to smart and 4K, your TV can be adapted to your budget so don’t worry about spending a fortune as you can pick up a large 50 inch TV of good quality for a couple of hundred pounds. Just make sure you shop around because there are always amazing sales of electrical’s.
Some TV’s will come with a built in sound system which is of a good quality but if you really want your hubby to experience the real deal, then investing in a high quality surround sound system, or a soundbar from somewhere like VIZIO, is worth it. Whether they’re watching a movie, playing games or listening to some music, there are a whole range of sound systems to suite you. Once again, take a look around to find the perfect fit for you.
If your man cave is big enough, a sofa is the perfect call, if you’ve got a smaller space then why not look at getting a games chair or comfy arm chair or two. Remember your man might have the occasional boys night so make sure there is enough space for everyone.
Storage is also key to a man cave, the TV cabinaet is the best place to get some hidden storage as you can hide all your wires, consoles and remoties without it looking too cluttered and messy.
For all the games, DVD’s and CV’s why not invest in a cool bookcase or DVD storage unit to keep games from piling up on the coffee table.
Another key item to my partner’s man cave is a beer fridge; he can put all of his favorite snacks and drinks in here without making his way to the kitchen!
So there you have it, the best way to create the perfect man cave and what goes into it. Don’t get too hung up on making this room ‘fit in’ with the rest of your home, as ultimately this room is specifically designed for him, so let him be creative, put up his favorite anime posters and enjoy the space.
