Whether you’re looking to try the local cuisine, have a nice lunch, or even indulge in a cheese course, Paris has a lot to offer in the food department. In fact, some of the world’s best oysters are harvested in French locations. The best way to enjoy these tasty morsels is by pairing them with a glass of white wine.

The traditional ham and cheese sandwich is a must-try. It’s made with a baguette, sliced ham, “jambon de Paris” and cheese. It’s a perfect lunch, especially if you’re on a budget. It also comes in various flavors, so you’re sure to find one that suits your tastes.

Another great meal to have while you’re in Paris is the classic onion soup. This is a dish that has spread from Europe to the rest of the world and is served in cozy neighborhood restaurants. It’s delicious and is served with a buttery crouton.

The French have a thing for desserts, and the macaron is a picture perfect confection that satisfies any sweet tooth. The macaron itself is made with a meringue-like shell, which is sandwiched with a sweet cream filling. In the fanciest versions, the macaron is topped with a hand-painted design. The Paris patissier knows how to make this dessert in a variety of flavors and colors.

Another must-have food to try in Paris is the pain au chocolat. This sweet treat is a bit like a croissant, but it’s stuffed with chocolate and is best enjoyed while it’s warm. You can get it in many locations in the city, including A La Biche au Bois and the famous Pierre Herme. It’s a fun dessert to try while in Paris, and makes for a great photo opp.

If you’re looking for a good French cheese course, you’ll be able to find it in the small grocery markets that are found in most of the city. Some of the best options are Mimolette, a French white cheese; and Saint Agur, a French blue cheese. The French can also produce some of the finest wine in the world, and a bottle of French Champagne is a wonderful treat.

The best food to try in Paris is likely not something that you’ll find in your typical restaurant, but rather in a cafe or creperie. These eateries tend to have more reasonable prices, and they serve the hottest dishes. If you want to try a more exotic pastry, check out Du Pain et des Idees, which offers an escargot pastry. You can also get your hands on the Croque Madame, a fancy sandwich with a fried egg on top. It’s a great choice for a light lunch, and it’s easy to find.

While you’re in the mood to try the best food to try in Paris, consider stopping by the Luxembourg Gardens, which are located a short distance from the Eiffel Tower. This beautiful park isn’t as crowded as other parks in the city, and it’s free to visit.
